Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover anything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s learning every single day and is quite abashed about his success. He knows he makes errors every single game of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
