NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer was born into in a family of 5 in which he enjoyed playing various card games when he was young. He discovered himself getting very aggressive in these particular card games as he was competing against his dad. After graduating from Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to put college on hold for a bit and relocated to New York City to participate in some big-time chess. While competing in chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were difficult as he played countless hours and fail to win a majority of the time. He made some extra cash by becoming an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He believed he possibly could better his game by analyzing his life outside of poker. He brought about an attempt to get more sleep and focus more on the game.
The definite advancement in his game happened when he started betting at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the the most favorable gamblers would regularly challenge one another. Howard had access into some of the greatest minds in chess. With their assistance, he would hone his logical thinking skills. Howard used these strategy ideas in the game of NL Texas Holdem.
He also assisted his sister Annie Duke master poker. Annie Duke was an excellent student of the game as she constantly asked questions about how to make the proper decision. Howard Lederer told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and compete in the World Series of Poker competition. Annie is one of the greatest female players the poker world ever. He headed to Vegas in 1993 and participated in cash games for the successive 10 years. When the World Poker Tournament gained popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
