Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the house gets 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and one 2 card hand have to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the casino’s.
