No-Limit Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer lived in a family of five in which he enjoyed betting on different card games at a young age. He discovered himself becoming really aggressive in these particular card games as he was competing against his father. After graduating from high school, Howard decided to place college on hold for a little bit and moved away to New York to play some formidable chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s initial 2 years were difficult as he played countless hours and do not win most times. He earned some additional money by becoming an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He believed he might better his game by adjusting his life outside of poker. He brought about an attempt to acquire more sleep and concentrate more on poker.
The real improvement in his game happened when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the the most favorable gamblers would regularly compete against one another. Howard had access into several of the best minds in chess. With their help, Howard would hone his logical thinking skills. Howard applied these strategic concepts to the game of NL holdem.
Howard also assisted his sister Annie Duke learn poker. Annie Duke was a great student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the correct decision. Howard Lederer told Annie to head out to Sin City and play in the WSOP tournaments. Annie is one of the greatest female players the poker arena has ever seen. Howard headed to Sin City in 1993 and participated in money games for the successive 10 years. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
