Omaha Hi-Low: Basic Summary
Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is frequently viewed as one of the most complicated but favored poker variations. It is a game that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for action from all levels of players. This is the primary reason why a once irrelevant game, has increased in popularity so quickly.
Omaha/8 starts just like a normal game of Omaha. Four cards are handed out to every player. A round of betting follows in which gamblers can bet, check, or fold. 3 cards are handed out, this is called the flop. A further sequence of betting ensues. After all the gamblers have either called or dropped out, a further card is revealed on the turn. an additional round of betting ensues and then the river card is flipped. The players will have to make the best high and low 5 card hands based on the board and hole cards.

Because straights and flushes don’t count, A-2-3-4-5 is the worst possible hand. The low hand is any five card hand (unpaired) with an eight and below. The low hand wins half of the pot, as just like the higher hand. When there is no low hand presented, the higher hand wins the whole pot.
Although it seems complicated at the start, after a couple of rounds you will be agile enough to get the fundamental nuances of play easily enough.
